Alexa Guevara

Alexa is a transactional real estate attorney with a diverse breadth of experience representing homebuilders, contractors, developers, private and institutional lenders, and other businesses in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing and development of commercial real estate on a national, regional and local level. Alexa tailors her representation to the business considerations and goals of her clients; utilizing her experience and creativity to help each client realize their objectives and close the deal.

Prior to joining Lawton Whiteman, Alexa acted as a Senior Commercial Services Counsel to a national company which provides title insurance, escrow and closing services for various national and regional homebuilders and as Regional Transactional Counsel for the second largest homebuilder in the nation. Prior to these inhouse counsel roles, Alexa was a Member of a multi-state law firm where she had experience representing: (a) private and institutional lenders in workout negotiation and forbearance arrangements, loan purchase and sale transactions, and mezzanine and permanent financing transactions for the acquisition, construction, development and refinancing of real estate projects; (b) developers of commercial, residential, retail and equestrian projects in financing (including tax credit financing), lease, sale/leaseback, acquisition, workout and development transactions, including drafting property owner association documents, declarations of covenants, restrictions and easements, negotiating agreements with governmental authorities, and addressing construction lien law, ILSA, and land use issues; and (c) equestrian and other agricultural clients in addressing development, permitting and agricultural classification eligibility issues, as well as the formation of a polo club and equestrian community.
